INFANT PROGRAM

INFANT PROGRAM

For ± 6 months to ±18 months

Our infant program focuses on the babies’ development in a carefully designed environment with attention to safety, exploration, and growth. The classroom has age appropriate equipment: push-pull toys, climbers, mirrors, mobiles, bean bags, textured surfaces for crawling and feeling, bars used for pulling up and standing exercises and safety-surfaced shelves.

In our school, infants can follow the same comforting routine they would enjoy at home. The program is structured around the babies’ individual schedules and abilities. Children are fed when they are hungry, and allowed to sleep whenever they are tired. We do not force children to eat at a certain time nor do we awaken them in order to feed them. The Primary goal of our Infant Program is to develop babies’ motor skills, senses and ability to communicate.

Infants enjoy observing toddlers during work time and also join them each day for music and other group activities. The toddler and infant rooms are situated together. This provides the necessary stimuli for both groups to bond and develop accordingly. Infants are observed throughout the year, and as they "grow up" they may join in all toddler lessons.
